Disclosure Statement:
When we enter the blogosphere we get to live in a modern day wild west; no accountability, no rules, tricks and general chaos, right? Bah. That doesn’t feel so good! I want you to know about the way Pondering Jen operates so you don’t live in fear of hearing the word “draw”.
Sometimes I receive compensation for some of the stuff I share; it may be in the form of product, money, a service, or a trip. You can see some examples of these here, here, here, andhere.Yeah, it’s pretty obvious when I am being compensated 🙂
Still, I want you to know what’s up. If I receive any compensation at all I will tell you which of the above I received within the post. I do this because Iwould want to know. Plus, I have some pretty significant anxiety and I would not be able to sleep if I ever tried to pull a fast one. It just doesn’t jive with who I am and the dissonance would eat me alive!
(Note: I have previously done giveaways where I receive nothing in exchange for it so if you do not see a reference to compensation, I have not received any.)
When I accept a review opportunity it is clear that I will either report honestly, or not share the product with my readers. There are products/books/services that I simply will not endorse. I have turned down many (high paying) opportunities because the product is one that  contains something that I am not comfortable with. I recently told a client that I would not publish a positive review of her book because it encourages children and parents to distance themselves from each other, for example.
On that same note, I am not a jerk, and we are not running an expose service here. If a client asks me to review something and the review will be scathing, I give them the opportunity to have the review remain unpublished.
What you read in my words everyday is me. I comes from a long line of people chock full of integrity. We define this as making the next right decision even when nobody is looking. We are the ones who always move the trash can out of the middle of the road and leave a note on your car when we opened our own door into it.
I have learned that doing the next right thing consistently is karmic- and hey, who doesn’t want good karma? Not this girl!
